LD Carlson Laaglander dried malt extract, dark

LD Carlson Briess 20L Crystal malt 6 Row
3.3 lbs
Muntons Malt Extract, Amber

Muntons Active brewing yeast
1 oz
Cascade Pellet hops


Brewing Process:
  1. Crushed the LD Carlson Briess 20L crystal malt grains using a rolling pin until they were mostly broken up.
  2. Put grains in grain sack and tied off the top
  3. Filled the brew pot with 2 gallons of water, and placed the grain sack in the water.
  4. Turned heat on "Hi" and brought water to 160 degrees
  5. Removed grain sack, continued boil.
  6. Once rolling boil was acheived, added Muntons Malt Extract, LD Carlson Laaglander dried malt extract (dark), Muntons spray-dried malt extract (plain, extra dark) and Cascade pellet hops.
  7. Returned to rolling boil
  8. After 50 minutes, placed the wort chiller in the boiling wort
  9. After 10 minutes, turned off heat, began chilling wort to 60 degrees
  10. Pitched yeast according to package directions
  11. Transferred wort to primary fermentation container, continued chilling to 60 degrees
  12. Added yeast to wort
  13. Agitated thoroughly and kept in kitchen at room temperature.
