| 26MAR2004 | More frustration with the
caliper. I was able to remove the spring, however, the method I
used (a screw & a c-clamp) won't work for re-assembly. |
| 27MAR2004 | Using some .75" steel electrical
conduit, I was able to fabricate the tool to compress the spring.
I cleaned up and re assembled the "broken" caliper. The parking
brake mechanics still need the correct grease, but other than that, it
is ready for painting and re-attachment. The "good" caliper was
also taken apart, cleaned, and the parking brake mechanism is
reassembled, but it still needs its new seal and dust boot. |
| 28MAR2004 | Assembled the calipers.
Masked the underside of the car and primered & painted the
left side of the rear axle. Also primered and painted the sway bar, one
of the calipers, one of the mounting brakets, and the two sway bar
mounting brackets. |
| 29MAR2004 | No work |
| 30MAR2004 | Hurt back, no work |
| 31MAR2004 | Back still hurts, but masked up
the right side of the axle and laid down primer and paint. |
| 01APR2004 | Nothing accomplished. |
